Highlights

Technology investment: Kall Kwik Welwyn Garden City has installed a Fujifilm Revoria EC2100S 5-colour press to enhance print quality and expand its product offering, particularly in areas like art prints and wedding stationery.

Strategic growth: This purchase marks the latest in a series of technology investments by owner Phil Beverly, aimed at continuously improving customer service and operational efficiency since taking over the branch in 2018.

Partnership & process: The press was sourced through trusted Fujifilm partner Digital Printing Systems UK Ltd, with hands-on testing and expert advice playing a key role in the decision-making process.

Brand legacy: As part of a long-established UK print franchise, Kall Kwik continues its mission to offer fast, high quality print services to businesses and individuals, building on a legacy of innovation in digital and colour printing since the 1970s.

The fifth colour channel gives us massive advantages, and all at a price point that’s similar to what we’d be paying for CMYK only from other manufacturers.

Phil Beverly, Owner | Kall Kwik Welwyn Garden City

Kall Kwik, the well-known UK brand, was founded in the late 1970s to make fast turnaround print available to a broad range of small and medium sized businesses as well as to individuals. Owner Phil Beverly joined the Welwyn Garden City Kall Kwik branch in 2012 and then bought the business from the previous owner in 2018. Since then, he’s made a series of investments in both print and finishing equipment to ensure that the quality and efficiency of the service offered to customers continues to improve even more.

Phil explains: “Previously, printing timescales were expressed in weeks rather than days or hours, and print production was dominated by large corporations. Kall Kwik revolutionised the market with the early adoption of colour and digital print, making it possible for a much broader range of customers to get smaller quantities of print delivered to tight deadlines.

“This investment with Fujifilm is one of many I’ve made in recent years, and it’s a particularly important one. We’d been considering a replacement for our previous toner production press for a couple of years, and when we saw the Revoria EC2100S, we decided to take a closer look. We ran tests on the press at the Fujifilm demo centre in Luton, and based on that hands on experience, and the advice of Will Doherty at Digital Printing Systems UK Ltd (DPS), we decided it was the best fit for our needs.

“We’re very familiar and comfortable with Fujifilm engineering and design, having used many Xerox presses over the years, so investing in Fujifilm technology made sense to us. But in the Revoria EC2100S we also have the added benefit of a press that has been carefully engineered to include a fifth colour channel. This gives us massive advantages, and all at a price point that’s similar to what we’d be paying for CMYK only from other manufacturers.”

Phil anticipates the new press having a big impact on production quality and capabilities. “The addition of pink toner means we can hit a lot more pantone colours than we have been able to before and we can take quality levels up significantly as well. We do a lot of art prints – and anticipate being able to move a lot of that production from our inkjet printers. The EC2100S will also be excellent for short run booklet and magazine production, and image-heavy books. Fujifilm has also recently announced that silver and white toner will also soon be available. We do a lot of wedding stationery, so silver toner gives us a much more cost-effective alternative to foil for those sorts of products. Overall, we’re confident that this is a long term investment that’s going to help us as we continue to grow.”

On the sales and installation process, Phil comments: “Both Will at DPS, and Fujifilm, have been excellent to deal with. We trust Will for his impartial advice, and we’ve been hugely impressed with Fujifilm through the whole process. It really feels like they want to work with us to get the best out of the press, rather than just making a sale. That hasn’t always been our experience with other suppliers in the past. We were also very impressed that we got two full days of training as part of the purchase agreement – far more time than we’ve ever had for any other equipment investment.”

Andy Kent, General Manager, Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK comments: “Our new EC2100S and SC285S presses are designed to make 5-colour printing more accessible than ever – we call it 5UPER COLOUR. It’s hard to imagine a customer better placed than Kall Kwik to make this a reality in the UK. We look forward to working with them to bring the benefits of 5UPER COLOUR to more people than ever before.”

Oscar Ramon, Commercial Director | Grupo Grafico

Grupo Grafico, a leading provider of printing and visual communication solutions, has upgraded its production line with a Fujifilm Acuity Prime L to improve turnaround times, increase print quality, and meet the growing needs of its customers.

Founded in 1994, Grupo Grafico employs 14 staff and offers a comprehensive service that extends beyond production, including printing and visual communication. The company manufactures a variety of products – from signage to personalised packaging – catering to a diverse range of customers.

Oscar Ramon, Commercial Director at Grupo Grafico, comments: “The Acuity Prime L was installed in the first quarter of 2024. We invested in this machine to handle a higher volume of work, reduce delivery times, and improve product quality. That was exactly our focus, and it was clear that the Acuity Prime L offered all of this. We were able to test it several times with our team using real jobs, and we unanimously agreed we wanted this machine in our facility.”

Grupo Grafico has been operating for over 30 years and is committed to staying competitive through continuous investment in the latest technology. Mr Ramon adds, “We always try to stay well-informed about equipment and materials. Much of our work involves short runs, where every second counts. With the Acuity Prime L, we saw that job changes and subsequent printing were extremely fast, and the print quality is excellent. Beyond the gains in speed and drying, it’s a pleasure to watch it operate: fast, reliable, and quiet.”

With customers demanding increasingly fast turnaround times and high-quality products, Mr Ramon explains that the combination of speed and quality offered by the Acuity Prime L is crucial in helping to meet those demands. “It’s enabled us to substantially improve production efficiency,” he says. “Thanks not only to its speed, but also due to the zone-based production functionality for small-format jobs, which allows for tighter deadlines and longer runs.”

Large-format signage production has also become more efficient, resolving previous challenges with tight delivery schedules, Mr Ramon says: “Large-format signage was a bit of a challenge for us due to tight delivery deadlines, we often had to work overtime to meet them. Now, we operate more calmly. That’s the main production benefit.”

Grupo Grafico’s design and creative clients have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback after testing the machine with their own projects, and the team has also praised the Acuity Prime L for how easy it is to use, with intuitive operation, good reliability, simple user interface, clever machine design, and ease of ink changes. Mr Ramon says: “It’s on another level, that’s the phrase we’ve heard most from the staff using it. The ease-of-use stands out as the machine is very intuitive and reliable. The user interface is pleasant to work with, structurally the machine is well-built – and it looks good too! Furthermore, everything is easily accessible, and ink changes are simple.”

Grupo Grafico praised Fujifilm’s support throughout the sales and installation process, highlighting their professionalism and commitment to providing effective solutions.

With the Acuity Prime L in place, Grupo Grafico is well-positioned to expand its client base, deliver even faster service, and continue its growth in the competitive visual communications market.

Joan Casas, Manager, Fujifilm Graphic Communication, Spain, comments: “This installation is part of Fujifilm’s ongoing commitment to the large format sector, and we’re excited to see Grupo Grafico take full advantage of the Acuity Prime L’s capabilities. We believe this will be a valuable asset for their business moving forward and Fujifilm is proud to partner with them in this important step.”

Xavier Mari, Comercial Director at Global Managing, a key distribution partner for Fujifilm, comments, “We recognised Grupo Grafico’s need for a high performance, versatile printing solution, and the Fujifilm Acuity Prime L was the ideal fit. Its speed, quality, and ease of use will undoubtedly empower them to meet growing market demands and enhance their production capabilities. We are proud to have facilitated this important acquisition.”

XMF PressReady has improved our efficiency significantly, it’s intuitive, reduces mistakes, and helps us run jobs quickly – even with a relatively less experienced team.

Zoia Abdulkarim, Head of Artworks Finalizing Team | Sketches International

Founded in 2010 in Dubai and expanding into the UK in 2019, London-based Sketches International provides a broad suite of creative services including design, branding, video production, website development and high-end digital print. The team of five prides itself on offering more than just production, delivering an end-to-end service tailored to each client’s needs.

Installed in February 2024, the Revoria Press PC1120 has allowed the agency to expand its digital print capabilities across a range of applications, from stationery and stickers to special high-end packaging like luxury paper bags. With the ability to print six colours in a single pass and a wide variety of speciality toners, the press has quickly become integral to Sketches’ offering.

Nizar Al Olabi, Director of Sketches International, says, “We first discovered the Revoria Press PC1120 at Labelexpo 2023, and its ability to print with both white and gold toner immediately stood out. Initially, we were looking for a solution that could handle white ink, but the added capability of gold convinced us to move forward with the investment, and we’re glad we did. It’s opened up so many creative possibilities, from special edition packaging to high-end labels across over 20 different materials.

“The press’s outstanding colour quality, registration accuracy, and support for embellishment-ready printing have been game changers. We’re able to offer our clients a final product proof with metallic finishes – sometimes that’s what closes the deal. One of our standout offerings is being among the first in the UK to provide short-run stickers with special effects, which gives us a huge competitive edge,” Mr. Al Olabi adds.

In addition to the Revoria PC1120 press, the company invested in Revoria XMF PressReady, Fujifilm’s advanced print workflow automation software. The solution has helped streamline job onboarding, reduce setup times, and minimise errors, all particularly valuable for a compact team.

Zoia Abdulkarim, Head of Artworks Finalizing Team, Sketches International, comments: : “XMF PressReady has improved our efficiency significantly. It’s intuitive, reduces mistakes, and helps us run jobs quickly – even with a relatively less experienced team.”

The investment reflects Sketches’ commitment to staying ahead in the competitive and fast-evolving print and packaging landscape. By leveraging speciality finishes and automation, the agency is not only meeting the growing demand for personalised and short-run packaging, but it’s also winning new business.

“Our goal is always to offer unique, high quality solutions, and this partnership with Fujifilm helps us do exactly that,” comments Mr. Al Olabi.

Looking ahead, Sketches International is exploring the addition of wide format capabilities, potentially looking to purchase another Fujifilm machine to further diversify its creative and print services.

Mr. Al Olabi comments: “The Fujifilm team was incredibly supportive, especially during a tough period when our previous machine was damaged in a flood. They helped us turn things around, and now we’re better equipped than ever to deliver for our clients.”

Spencer Green, Head of Print-On-Demand UK at Fujifilm comments: “Sketches International perfectly demonstrates how creative vision can be elevated through advanced print technology. With the Revoria PC1120 and XMF PressReady, they’re able to push the boundaries of personalised packaging while optimising their production workflow. We’re delighted to play a part in supporting their continued growth and innovation.”

QPS Print

QPS Print invests in Fujifilm Acuity Prime to boost production speed and unlock new growth opportunities

QPS Print

Stoke-on-Trent, UK

Acuity Prime

Reading time: 5 minutes

Highlights

Technology investment: QPS Print has installed a Fujifilm Acuity Prime flatbed printer to significantly enhance production speed and efficiency, enabling them to handle higher volume print jobs.

Business growth: The new printer has opened up nationwide opportunities for QPS Print, allowing the company to expand beyond its local client base and pursue larger-scale projects.

Operational efficiency: Improved LED curing technology and better ink coverage have reduced energy costs and increased productivity, making the Acuity Prime more cost-effective than older models.

Strategic partnership: QPS Print’s 20-year relationship with Fujifilm played a key role in the purchase decision, with the company praising Fujifilm’s product reliability, service and support, and smooth installation process.

The Acuity Prime offers a significant uplift in productivity over our older machines, the speed and capacity were the biggest drivers for us.

Jamie Copeland, Managing Director | QPS Print

QPS Print, a Stoke-on-Trent-based large format print specialist, has installed a Fujifilm Acuity Prime flatbed printer to expand its production capabilities and take on higher volume work. Now in its 40th year, QPS Print began as a screen printing business before evolving into a full-service large format print provider. With a team of 25 skilled staff, QPS Print serves both trade and end-user customers across many sectors, including retail, leisure, hospitality and education to name a few – producing everything from signage to point-of-sale displays, murals and wall graphics and much more.

The business offers an end-to-end service, from concept and design through to manufacture, dispatch and installation, and has a long-standing relationship with Fujifilm, having worked with the company since the start of Fujifilm’s digital print era.

Jamie Copeland, Managing Director, QPS Print, comments: “Along with other Fujifilm products, the Prime will be our fourth Fujifilm Acuity machine. We looked at a number of machines, but the confidence we’ve built over the years in Fujifilm’s products, service and support made it an easy decision to opt for the Acuity Prime.”

Installed early 2025, the Acuity Prime has already delivered major gains in speed and productivity. Despite having the same bed size as previous machines, the uplift in performance has enabled QPS Print to take on longer print runs that were previously unfeasible due to time constraints or cost.

Mr.Copeland adds: “The Acuity Prime offers a significant uplift in productivity over our older machines; the speed and capacity were the biggest drivers for us. The additional throughput allows us to remain competitive and deliver on larger jobs that we could not do previously. The Acuity Prime has also helped us become more efficient in production – partly due to the efficiency of LED curing lamps compared to the previous less efficient ink curing system, reducing both energy costs and the need for ongoing lamp replacement.”

The printer utilises Fujifilm’s Uvijet UV ink range, which is specially designed for the Acuity Prime. Mr.Copeland comments: “The vibrancy of colour is excellent along with increased ink coverage giving a great print finish onto all substrates”.

With the improved speed and capacity, the new Acuity Prime has allowed QPS Print to target nationwide opportunities.

Mr. Copeland comments: “The investment in the latest machine allows us to expand our market and has given us new opportunities to go beyond local clients. We now have the capacity and are in a much stronger position to manage larger orders and service clients nationwide.”

Looking ahead, QPS Print is considering replacing older printers with new Acuity Prime models. “For the speed and cost in use, the Acuity Prime is an exceptional machine,” says Mr.Copeland. “There’s every chance we’ll look to upgrade in the near future with additional Fujifilm machines.”

With an ongoing partnership of twenty years, QPS Print was supported in the sales and installation process. Mr. Copeland comments: “The Fujifilm team were excellent throughout – we visited Fujifilm’s Broadstairs facility for machine demonstrations, and Fujifilm then conducted site surveys here at QPS and ensured everything was in place ahead of installation. The installation itself was completed in just a few days.”

Andy Webb, Head of Inkjet and Packaging UK, at Fujifilm, comments: “We’re delighted to see QPS Print building on their long-standing relationship with Fujifilm by investing in the Acuity Prime. It’s a versatile, efficient and high-performing printer designed to meet the challenges of today’s large format market. We’re proud to support QPS Print as they expand their capabilities and take on exciting new opportunities.”

Cactus Graphics invests in Fujifilm Revoria PC1120S to ‘disrupt the market’ with special colour capabilities

Cactus Graphics

Dover, UK

Revoria Press PC1120

Reading time: 5 minutes

Highlights

Company background: Cactus Graphics, founded in 2021 in Dover, builds on 150 years of family print heritage while focusing on youth recruitment and modernisation.

Strategic move: In early 2025, the company invested in a Fujifilm Revoria PC1120S 6-colour press to replace an older 4-colour machine and stay ahead of the market.

Technology benefits: The new press offers high speed, energy efficiency, superior colour matching, and long sheet printing, with standout capabilities like white, pink, and metallic inks.

Market expansion: These new features position Cactus to expand beyond B2B into B2C markets, with greater appeal to creative agencies and enhanced brand output.

Strong partnerships: The investment was supported by excellent collaboration with Fujifilm and distributor Colyer, who provided hands-on guidance and full installation support.

It’s fast, the power consumption is remarkably low, the machine footprint is compact, the quality is excellent, and it also offers us long sheet capability as standard.

Katie Weaver | Managing Director & Co-founder | Cactus Graphics

Cactus Graphics, based in Dover, Kent, is a forward-thinking, modern print business, built on a print heritage that goes back nearly 150 years. Launched in July 2021 with a staff of five, the company was founded as a direct successor to Buckland Media Group (a family business which traces its origins to the mid-19th century). Managing Director, Katie Weaver, one of the Cactus Graphics founders, and the latest in a family line going back multiple generations at Buckland, runs Cactus Graphics with co-founder and Commercial Director, Richard Archer.

In early 2025 they invested in a Fujifilm Revoria PC1120S 6-colour press, with the machine installed in March. Colyer made the initial introduction of the Cactus team to Fujifilm and coordinated their visits to Fujifilm’s Luton showroom. They visited three times in all, including one visit in which their creative team brought files and designs to explore the usability and capabilities of the press in depth.

“We’re proud of the long heritage of the company,” says Katie. “But the fresh start we made in 2021, with a new brand, and a whole new look, was very intentional. We’re a young business in every sense of the word, in an industry where businesses all too often have an aging workforce and no younger generation coming through. We recruit youngsters regularly, straight out of school or college. We have kids through all the time doing work experience, and we have really strong links with universities and colleges in the local area – working with design students to teach them about the endless creative possibilities of print.

“We’re a forward thinking business, always looking at new technologies and what they have to offer. We needed to replace an existing press that was out of contract and we had a choice: replace it like-for-like with another 4-colour press – or be bold, disrupt the market and invest in something that was going to really set us apart.

“The 6-colour Fujifilm Revoria PC1120S wasn’t the only press we looked at with special colour capability – but it was the one that delivered by far the best overall package. It’s fast, the power consumption is remarkably low, the machine footprint is compact, the quality is excellent, and it also offers us long sheet capability as standard – whereas alternatives we looked at would have required significant additional cost”.

Richard Archer adds: “The colour matching ability we have now is phenomenal, which is fantastic for things like brands and logos in particular, and something our design agency clients will really benefit from. We also have orange and pink in the Cactus Graphics logo – so there’s an immediate benefit for our own marketing materials. With the combinations we can run now of white, metallics and pink – we’re also opening the door to a lot of potential B2C work, where in the past we’ve been mostly focussed on B2B.

“It feels like Fujifilm has been really intentional in the design and taken care to get it right. With some other presses it often feels like the additional colour stations have been crammed in as an afterthought to try to capitalise on recent rising demand for special colours – rather than designing a press around that special colour functionality.”

Both Archer and Weaver were impressed with Fujifilm, and with local distributor, Colyer, who handled the sale. “Both Fujifilm and Colyer were excellent to work with throughout the whole process,” Richard concludes. “Jonathan Lyons, Colyer’s Sales Director worked closely with our team and with Fujifilm throughout the process – including all meetings, RIPs, workflow specifications, and digital front-end configurations. Colyer also coordinated the entire delivery and installation process from start to finish. Both the Colyer and Fujifilm teams were great to work with and were enormously flexible with our requirements.”

Andy Kent, Divisional Manager, Graphic Communications, Fujifilm UK says: “Forward thinking businesses need technologies that take them forward. We’re delighted to have partnered with Cactus Graphics, equipping them with the tools, in the Revoria PC1120S, to take their creativity to even greater heights as they continue to grow their business.”

Jonathan Lyons, Sales Director at Colyer adds: “The Cactus team were a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Visiting the Fujifilm Luton showroom gave them a chance to see the Revoria Press PC1120S in action, and their confidence and decisiveness in choosing the right solution were impressive. We’re proud to have supported them in making such a forward-thinking investment.”

Highlights

Business Growth & Investment: Doubled turnover in 18 months after investing in two Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 presses, becoming the first user outside Japan and winning industry recognition.

Sustainabilty Focus: Strong commitment to eco-friendly packaging using recyclable, compostable solutions and low-impact production methods supported by the FP790.

Technology Impact: The FP790 enabled high quality, efficient digital printing, allowing a shift from flexo and the ability to handle smaller, flexible orders.

Market Expansion: Expanded from food into wellness sectors like supplements, with plans to introduce new substrates and more paper-based packaging.

Future Plans: Potential of a third press and targeting international growth, particularly in the North American market.

“The print quality is exceptional and the consistency is spot on.”

Simon Buswell, Director | Eco Flexibles

Eco Flexibles, a UK-based flexible packaging business, has doubled its turnover in just 18 months following its investment in two Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 presses, as demand for sustainable flexible packaging has soared. Known for its strong focus on sustainable packaging solutions across the food and wellness sectors, the introduction of two Jet Press FP790 presses, has allowed the company to capitalise on market trends and grow the business rapidly.

The first Jet Press FP790 press was installed in June 2023 and the results were immediate. Following the success of the first machine, Eco Flexibles installed a second press later that year to keep up with soaring demand.

Eco Flexibles has already been recognised for its growth, winning an industry award with The Grocer, for Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year.

Eco Flexibles made headlines back in 2023 as the first customer outside of Japan to invest in the Jet Press FP790. Simon Buswell, Director at Eco Flexibles, comments: “That was a huge moment for us. We knew we were taking a leap into something that hadn’t been widely proven outside of Japan, but we had complete confidence in Fujifilm and the technology. We were willing to lead the way, and it’s paid off.”

Sustainability is central to everything the company does. Buswell continues: “We’ve always focused heavily on sustainability – whether it’s through using mono-materials, recyclable pouches, compostable solutions, or solvent-free, water-wash plates. Our business is built around environmentally conscious packaging. Prior to investing in the Jet Press FP790, we had already been working closely with Fujifilm through our use of the company’s Flenex FW water-wash flexo plates, and the move to digital was the next logical step in our sustainability journey.

“The FP790 fitted right into our business model – no solvents, minimal waste, low energy consumption, and high print quality. It has allowed us to meet all of our environmental targets. We did a lot of testing and trials, and it became clear that this press represented the future of flexible packaging.

“We originally expected to compete against other digital platforms, but we’ve actually been eating into the flexo market instead. The speed, quality, and commercial viability of the press means we’re now able to take on more work and handle smaller order volumes for our customers, which has been a game-changer.

“We invested in a second machine, due to a mix of necessity and planning. We were using up most of the capacity of the first machine within months. The second gave us the ability to scale while also providing valuable contingency. We’ve doubled our turnover over the last 18 months, and the bulk of that growth is thanks to digital.”

The business currently operates a 50/50 mix of digital and flexo, but Buswell anticipates that digital will continue to grow as they convert more traditional work over to their newer systems.

Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, even from clients who may not fully understand the technical advantages of the Jet Press FP790. “Most of our clients aren’t aware that it’s digital – they just see the results. But once they know, it becomes a real selling point. The print quality is exceptional, and the consistency is spot on.”

Eco Flexibles is also now seeing increasing interest from outside their traditional food packaging markets, particularly in the growing wellness and supplements sector. “We’ve picked up brand new work in new markets – such as health and wellness packaging – things like collagen powders and mushroom blends. It’s a growing market, and like food, it comes with strict regulatory and quality demands, which the Jet Press FP790 helps us meet effortlessly. We are also looking at expanding into new substrates and applications.

“There’s a lot of opportunity to introduce more paper-based packaging into our portfolio. That’s a big focus going forward. We’re also planning to grow internationally, with North America a likely next step.”

Commenting on whether they would consider adding a third Jet Press FP790, Buswell remains open: “Never say never. The demand is there, and we know Fujifilm offers the right technology to meet it.”

“Fujifilm have been fantastic. From the early conversations to installation and support, they’ve really understood what we’re trying to do as a business. We’re not just looking for faster print – we want smarter, greener, more future-focused packaging. The Jet Press FP790 gives us that, and more.”

Manuel Schrutt, Business Strategy Packaging Director, Global, FUJIFILM Corporation comments: “We’re incredibly proud to see the growth that Eco Flexibles has seen since partnering with Fujifilm. As the first customer outside of Japan to invest in this technology, they’ve truly led from the front – proving not just what the press can do, but what’s possible for the future of sustainable flexible packaging. Their success is a testament both to their vision and ambition, and to the capability of the Jet Press FP790.”

Market Expansion and Future Growth: With the Acuity Ultra R2 now fully operational, LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH is positioned for further market expansion, offering a broader range of services and continuing its commitment to delivering high-quality results.

The Acuity Ultra R2 is a game changer for us, particularly in an industry where flexibility and reliability are key.

Caroline Bertram, Managing Director | LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH

LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH, a leading provider of innovative printing solutions based in Alsdorf, Germany, has recently invested in the Fujifilm Acuity Ultra R2 – a state-of-the-art large-format printer. This strategic acquisition is part of LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its print quality, improving production efficiency, and exceeding the expectations of its customers.

In an ever-evolving industry where speed, quality, and flexibility are paramount, LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH recognised the need to upgrade its printing capabilities. The company’s previous 5 metre machines were no longer meeting the demands of its growing clientele, prompting a search for a more advanced solution. In December 2022, LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH first became aware of the Acuity Ultra R2 through a recommendation from Ulrich Frohn, part of the Fujifilm organisation.

“We were impressed by the Acuity Ultra R2’s remarkable features from the outset,” says Caroline Bertram, Managing Director at Logo GmbH. “Its intuitive operation and the sheer quality of output it promised gave us confidence that this was the right investment for our business. The installation of the printer in September 2023 marked the beginning of a new chapter for our production line.”

Since the installation of the Acuity Ultra R2, LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH has seen a significant improvement in both the quality and speed of its large format prints. The new printer has enabled the company to produce prints at a width of 5 metres – something that was previously unattainable with its older equipment. This has not only satisfied existing customers, it has also attracted new business too.

“Our clients are thrilled with the results,” Bertram adds. “The feedback has been positive, with many noting the noticeable increase in quality. This improvement has directly contributed to an upturn in orders, reaffirming our decision to invest in this technology.”

The printing industry faces continuous pressure to deliver high quality results quickly and efficiently. The partnership with Fujifilm, and specifically the proven benefits of the Acuity Ultra R2, have been crucial in helping LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH to navigate these challenges.

Bertram continues: “The Acuity Ultra R2 has transformed our production process. The machine’s speed and precision allow us to meet even the most demanding deadlines without compromising on quality. The printer is a game changer for us, particularly in an industry where flexibility and reliability are key.”

The successful integration of the Acuity Ultra R2 into LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH’s operation is also a testament to the strong partnership with Fujifilm. The installation process was smooth, and the training provided by Fujifilm at its Broadstairs UK, facility was comprehensive.

“We’re very pleased with the support we received from Fujifilm,” says Bertram. “Their technicians have been responsive and knowledgeable, ensuring that any issues are quickly resolved. The training was also invaluable, equipping our team with the skills needed to maximise the printer’s potential.”

With the Acuity Ultra R2 now fully operational, LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH is poised to further expand its market presence. The company anticipates that the enhanced production capabilities will open doors to new opportunities, allowing them to cater to a broader range of clients and applications.

“The Acuity Ultra R2 has already proven to be an excellent investment,” Bertram concludes. “Its ability to deliver consistent, high quality results aligns perfectly with our commitment to excellence. We’re excited about the future and confident that this technology will continue to support our growth.”

Ali Meybodi, Sales Manager Wide Format, Fujifilm Germany comments: “We are delighted that LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH has chosen the Acuity Ultra R2 to enhance its printing capabilities. Our aim is to provide our customers with the tools they need to succeed in a competitive market, and we are proud to support LOGO-Werbetechnik GmbH in achieving their goals.”

Uniprint Global Acquisition: In 2023, Lebone acquired Uniprint Global, modernising its operations with Fujifilm’s inkjet solutions and reinforcing the company’s long-term partnership with a trusted supplier.

“The equipment is both very adaptable and incredibly robust. It can handle almost anything we throw at it.”

Keith Michael, Owner | Lebone Litho Printers

Lebone Litho Printers, one of South Africa’s top five largest printing companies, has seen considerable business success since installing the Jet Press 750S High Speed Model in 2022, as well as several integrated inkjet solutions from Fujifilm including; the 46kUV and 42K printbar system, and the Fujifilm Unigraphica AG TransJet transport system. These investments have modernised Lebone’s operations and enhanced its efficiency in both commercial and transactional printing.

Founded by Keith Michael and his wife over 20 years ago, Lebone Litho Printers has grown into a thriving business specialising in both high volume litho production and short-run digital printing. It produces secure documents, election ballots, barcoded materials, exam papers, educational materials, and thermal roll printing for receipts and tickets.

Since becoming the first company in South Africa to install the Jet Press 750S High Speed Model, the press has been central to its high quality commercial printing. Mr. Michael comments: “We have been very impressed by the versatility and quality of the Jet Press 750S. Its ability to deliver exceptional print results while maintaining efficiency has enabled us to expand our offerings and better serve our clients. It allows us to deliver rapid turnaround times for customers who need immediate results. Additionally, quality is one of our biggest strengths as a business, and the Jet Press aligned perfectly with our priorities. Our workforce also loves the press. It’s easy to use, efficient, and has made our production process much smoother.”

Clients visiting Lebone’s facilities have also taken notice of the new equipment. “Our entire plant runs on ISO 9001 accreditation, so our clients expect the highest quality,” He continues. “Many of them don’t realise what technology we are using, but when they visit and see the Jet Press in action, they’ve been curious about how we’re achieving such high quality output with such quick turnarounds.”

In an interview with Fujifilm in May 2024 (https://inkjet-integration.fujifilm.com/lebone-testimonial/), Keith Michael talked about his experience installing three Fujifilm 42K printbar systems, enhancing high-speed, single-pass inkjet capabilities for variable data and security print applications. “The equipment is both very adaptable and incredibly robust. It can handle almost anything we throw at it. The 42K’s from Fujifilm were the best investment I’ve ever made.” Michael explained. “I’ve been able to increase my productivity, lower my labour costs, and my lead times are now so short, I can even charge a premium for my product.”

Building upon this past success, Lebone has since further invested in integrated inkjet solutions from Fujifilm by adding to its operation Fujifilm’s 46kUV inkjet printbar, further strengthening its ability to meet high security and high precision printing requirements. The 46kUV is used for variable data printing, numbering, and barcoding, offering high resolution output and seamless integration into existing production lines. “The 46kUV delivers incredible precision and flexibility,” Mr. Michael noted. “It allows us to handle highly detailed security printing applications with outstanding consistency, which is essential in transactional and government-related work.

Michael also discussed the transformation of Uniprint Global, a Durban-based company he acquired in 2023. “Uniprint needed modernisation, so we upgraded equipment, restructured operations, and moved to a new facility,” he said. “We replaced expensive, outdated numbering and variable data systems with Fujifilm’s integrated inkjet systems and the TransJet system – continuing our partnership with a trusted supplier.

“I always shop around before making an investment to ensure that I’m getting the best technology for the best price. There were competitors offering alternatives, but I value strong relationships with suppliers. I don’t switch brands easily – I’d rather work with a trusted partner to improve their technology. With Fujifilm, I know I have a reliable long-term partner who is always ready to support our business needs.”

Fujifilm’s professionalism and expertise have played a major role in Lebone’s continued investment in the brand. Mr. Michael concludes: “I quickly learned that the Fujifilm team is highly trained, knowledgeable, and committed to finding solutions. Printing is an industry with a high barrier to entry, as everything is expensive. That’s why choosing the right technology partner is crucial. They’re not just a supplier, they become a key stakeholder in your business. Fujifilm has proven to be that partner for us. Their technology, service, and commitment to innovation have played a major role in our growth, and I look forward to continuing this journey with them.”

Grant Potgieter, General Manager, Fujifilm Graphic Communications, South Africa comments: “It’s been rewarding to continue to partner with Lebone Litho Printers across the years and help them expand their business offering, showcasing what is possible with our inkjet and integrated solutions. We are proud to support Lebone in their journey towards continued growth and success, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the future.”

Piotr Fortuniak, Digital Department & Project Manager | PrintUp

PrintUp, an online Polish calendar print business founded in 2018, has enhanced its capabilities, following the installation of a Revoria Press PC1120 in August 2024. While the PrintUp brand is relatively young, it is backed by over 30 years of experience, as it is owned and was launched by established commercial Polish print house, Interak. A long-term Fujifilm customer, Interak was one of the earliest adopters of Fujifilm’s Jet Press 540W roll-fed inkjet printing system around a decade ago, with the press still in full use today. Combining forward-thinking modernism with decades of experience, PrintUp offers its international client base service of the highest standard. In addition to calendars, PrintUp also produces leaflets, business cards, brochures, and catalogues.

Piotr Fortuniak, Digital Department & Project Manager at PrintUp, comments “The Revoria Press PC1120 brings exciting new opportunities to our business, enabling us to broaden our product offering while improving production efficiency. We are using the PC1120 to produce a wide range of calendars, including three-part and single-part options, with refinements such as glossy foil, matte foil, or matte foil with selective varnish”.

“We believe that success comes from both a skilled team and investing in the best technology. This investment allows us to create more complex, creative projects, which is especially important for calendar production, where functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand. We will also use the machine to produce leaflets, business cards, brochures, and catalogues”.

“The ability to print in special colours truly captivates our customers.” comments Piotr. “Personalisation is key in our industry, and the Revoria Press PC1120 enables us to offer customers truly unique calendars that stand out. The shimmering metallics are particularly eye-catching and the pink colour offers superb vibrancy. Additionally, we can now match a wider range of Pantone colours, which is particularly appealing to the packaging and fashion industries – and is enabling us to enter new markets.”

Sustainability was another important factor in PrintUp’s decision to invest in the Revoria Press PC1120. “Fujifilm is known for providing solutions that combine quality with environmental responsibility.” said Piotr. “The use of low-energy toners and waste minimisation demonstrate this, and this aligned perfectly with our mission, as investments we make need to not only improve our product quality but also be environmentally responsible”.

Mark Lawn, Head of POD Solutions, Fujifilm Europe added, “It’s inspiring to see PrintUp embrace innovation through their investment in the Revoria Press PC1120. This installation underscores the company’s forward-thinking approach, combining the advanced technology of the PC1120 with their own value-added services to deliver exceptional quality and service. This not only ensures customer satisfaction but also supports the continued growth of their business.”
