Revoria Color Management

Precision, efficiency, and intelligence in every print

Why Revoria Color Management ?

De-skill colour management

Maintain accurate and consistent colour management on your Revoria press without having to use rely on colour management experts

Rapid operation

In devices measurement of colour charts and almost instant analysis and correction of any colour deviation makes daily use quick and simple

Reliable consistency

Provides a standardised framework for excellence, ensuring that output remains stable across diverse shifts and varying substrates.

How it Works

In professional printing, measurement time is a critical bottleneck, so minimising calibration time is a positive way to maximise uptime and improve profitability.

Revoria Color Management solves this problem by integrating scanners and inline sensors directly into the diagnostic loop, replacing the slow, skill-dependent pace of traditional handheld colorimeters.

The result is a typical reduction in measurement time of 80%, reducing what can normally take 10 minutes, to just 2. Remarkably, this efficiency is achieved with fewer measurement points than traditional methods, using smarter sampling techniques to maintain accuracy without the time penalty of manual intervention.

Intelligent diagnostics and remedial action

The interface within Revoria Color Management utilises a ‘Success Screen’ for confirmed colour targets and an ‘Alert Screen’ for deviations.

The inclusion of the Adjustment Button – which triggers immediate profile adjustments or calibration updates – speeds up the process of addressing potential colour issues.

It empowers non-expert operators to solve complex colour drifts without escalating the problem to a more specialist colour consultant. This immediate problem-solving capability is supported by the system’s ability to track performance over time, ensuring long-term historical stability

The Revoria press diagnostic workflow:

    1. Print: Generate and print the colour management chart.
    2. Capture: Scan via the printer’s scanner or allow the inline sensor to capture data automatically during the run.
    3. Calculate: The system calculates industry-standard metrics, specifically ΔE (Delta E), to provide a clear grading of colour health
    4. Analyse: The software compares the individual printer’s output against set targets.
    5. Correct: If goals are not achieved, the system displays specific remedial steps and adjustment buttons to restore precision instantly.

This immediate problem-solving capability is supported by the system’s ability to track performance over time, ensuring long-term stability.

Built-in

FOGRA verification

Revoria Color Management includes FOGRA PSD verification, which helps ensure that your printed materials look exactly as intended.

FOGRA verification is a trusted quality check that compares your printed output against a recognised industry standard for colour accuracy. This means you can be confident that your colours are consistent, vibrant, and true to brand every time you print. For print businesses aiming for high quality production, this feature is critical because it reduces costly mistakes, minimises wasted materials, and guarantees professional print that meets the highest standards.

Ensure consistent colour management when providing reprints

Revoria Color Management measurement results are saved for a set number of past checks, so you can track your printer’s colour performance over time. When you need to reprint the same job, you can review these previous results to help ensure consistent and accurate colour for every repeat job.

Advanced customisable colour management

In addition to our easy-to-use standard settings, Revoria Color Management also supports custom settings for greater control and flexibility. With custom settings, you can fine-tune your colour management by using advanced measuring devices like X-Rite’s ‘i1Pro 3’ and ‘i1iO 3’.

While standard settings let you quickly set up CMYK profiles and calibration targets based on common conditions, custom settings give you the freedom to create profiles and targets that perfectly match your unique needs. Plus, instead of pre-defined colour goals, custom settings let you define your own, so you can achieve the highest level of colour accuracy and consistency for your specific workflow.

Revoria Color Management: Easy & efficient colour management

Revoria Color Management transforms colour quality control from a complex, skill-dependent task into an automated, reliable process that delivers consistent, high quality prints every time. Its unique approach of using smart hardware integration, intelligent software diagnostics, and built-in industry-standard verification means print businesses can confidently meet precise colour standards while dramatically reducing downtime and waste.

By simplifying colour management and speeding up quality checks, Revoria Color Management helps your business increase productivity, protect brand integrity, and maximise profitability making it an essential tool to get the very best from your Revoria press.

Why the Revoria Press PC2120?

Deliver creative print that gets as close as possible to the original RGB wide gamut design intent, with SUPER COLOUR printing enhanced by the addition of a new Green toner.

Press set-up is much quicker, thanks to a new Substrate Profiler that uses AI-powered learning models to simplify and automate the entire process.

A range of technologies, including a new Smart Monitoring Gate, monitor on-press quality and adjust in real time for the maximum quality, stability and reliability.

The colours you thought were unprintable. Now printable. Think in RGB with the Revoria PC2120.

This changes everything.

A new benchmark for on demand printing

Combining exceptional colour capability, versatile embellishment options, and advanced productivity powered by AI, the new Revoria PC2120 takes the hard work out of production print and delivers colour without compromise.

Colours Unprintable. Now Printable.

There’s a moment every designer dreads. The job comes back from print and the colour isn’t quite what the screen promised.

It never is. CMYK printing, for all its strengths, has never been able to keep that particular promise. Not until now. Adding a new Green toner to the existing Pink transforms what SUPER COLOUR printing can achieve. Now you can reproduce colour as close as possible to the way a designer sees it – bright, vivid – in fact you can now reproduce 93% of Pantone spot colours* and the possibilities speak for themselves.

Making RGB simple

Converting RGB design files for print has always been a technical headache for designers. Choosing the right colour profiles, managing separations, checking the results, it’s the moment creativity stops and admin begins.

Revoria Flow eliminates all of that. It automatically separates RGB data into CMYK with Green and Pink in a single click. The result: the designer just needs to supply the file in RGB. The software handles the rest. Simple.

Speciality Colour Web Viewer for RGB

The Speciality Colour Web Viewer (SCWV) software is web-based and allows print service providers to help their customers visualise the difference between advanced SUPER COLOUR printing with CMYK+Green+Pink, and 4-colour CMYK equivalents.

This easy-to-use tool helps you showcase what can be achieved with SUPER COLOUR printing with Green and Pink toners, helping you to promote your higher value, wider gamut print capability, and differentiate your services in a competitive print market.

*Based on Pantone’s verification, this percentage refers to colours from the Pantone Formula Guide Solid Coated where the ΔE00 colour difference compared to the output colour falls within the range of 3 or less.

Embellishments that make all the difference.

Fujifilm FLX metallic toner technology

The high density Silver and Gold metallic toners used in the Revoria PC2120 have reflective pigment particles that are fused to the substrate and lay parallel to the surface, resulting in their ability, due to FLX technology, to reflect light ensuring the underlying media does not show through, and giving a metallic appearance.

Unlike traditional foiling, spot Silver and Gold toners can be combined with fine detail and small text, including variable data. They are ideal for adding elegance and a luxury touch to many applications, such as decorative elements on certificates, greeting cards, business cards, and packaging.

Add silver and gold to the mix

Silver and Gold toners are not limited to metallic embellishments alone. Combining Silver and Gold toners with CMYK also extends the range of colours that can be printed, making it possible to create a large number of metallic shades, offering unprecedented scope for creativity and new high profitable services to offer to your customers.

It is also possible to reproduce Pantone metallic colours. By using Silver or Gold toner layers underneath CMYK, it is possible to achieve a closer match to metallic colour samples. Fujifilm also offers metallic swatch libraries which can be loaded into Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, and it is also possible to create your own metallic colours.

Highlights are a clear winner

Pick out names and headlines with clear, perfectly registered Clear toner to add an extra dimension to personalised print. Creative use of a clear layer adds a touch of luxury when adding subtle patterns and backgrounds too.

Be brilliant with high opacity white

The ability to print high opacity white is essential for window clings, labels and stickers on transparent media and opens up a world of possibilities on darker paper and board. But the use of White toner also allows unique and stylish patterns and designs to be created, making print applications stand out, and creating a superb, high quality luxury feel to printed items.

It is even possible to print two layers of white in a single pass to achieve a high opacity white on the most difficult dark substrates.

A new benchmark in AI-powered productivity

The Revoria Press PC2120 sets a new benchmark in productivity by improving a number of the steps that affect overall print productivity. The amount of work that a press can print, and the speed of job turnaround, are governed by more than just the top-line press speed.

Job productivity can be defined as the combined effect of the following:

1. Pre-press preparation

A number of new advanced AI-powered technologies have been introduced in the Revoria PC2120 and Revoria Flow DFE to minimise job setup time and enhance print quality, all with the minimum operator intervention.

New AI-enhanced Substrate Profiler

The Revoria PC2120 incorporates an advanced Substrate Profiler that revolutionises paper setup in production printing. Developed with proprietary Fujifilm technology, the Substrate Profiler is designed to eliminate trial and error and reduce job preparation time, dramatically cutting a typical paper setup time from 22 minutes to just 4 minutes without requiring special operator skills.

Revoria Flow AI learning models

Revoria Flow incorporates new AI-based learning models that mean a wide variety of functions can efficiently be set with a single click, including turning off various settings where not needed, optimising and simplifying press setup and operation.

2. Optimising quality and maximising press up-time

The real difference with the Revoria Press PC2120 are the new technologies that have been introduced to maintain superb print quality throughout even a longer print run, while also maximising press up-time and simplifying operation. Even for more challenging substrates and applications, the press will perform at the same top-line speed for much longer, without stopping the press for paper feed or quality issues.

Real time print correction

The Smart Monitoring Gate D1 monitors changes in colour density and the front-to-back registration during printing. By scanning print jobs as they are being printed, the system detects and automatically corrects colour variations and registration misalignments in real time, resulting in stable and consistent print quality even for larger print runs. Print optimisation is done without reducing productivity, achieving both high quality and high productivity.

Print inspection system

Printed jobs can be automatically inspected inline, reducing the dependency on operator skill levels and the time needed for visual inspections. The optional image inspection system* compares the printed jobs with RIP images to detect print defects such as dots and folds. The text inspection verifies text and barcodes against reference files. This enables the inspection of variable data to be completed during print production.

*Availability to be announced in the future

Remote Image Quality Diagnosis

The Revoria Press PC2120 incorporates many technologies that maximise reliability and printing. uptime. However, should a quality issue occur, a Remote Image Quality Diagnostics service is available that assists in the process of fault finding.

Curl correction

A compact, built-in decurler automatically detects and corrects the paper curl caused by the type of paper or the image density of the print job one page at a time, in real time. This ensures high quality output can be achieved with stable paper travel and curl suppression.

Air Suction Feeder

An optional Air Suction Feeder improves the feed performance of paper with a lot of paper dust, pre-printed paper using powder, paper with an uneven texture and coated paper, resulting in a stable, high speed feed for various paper types, from lightweight to heavyweight, and small-sized to banner sheets.

3. Press print speed

The Revoria Press PC2120 achieves high productivity printing of 120 ppm (A4 landscape) and 63ppm (SRA3) across a wide range of paper types, including paper weights from 52 to 400 gsm, coated and uncoated papers, as well as when using speciality toners. In addition, there is no waiting time even for mixed jobs combining coated and uncoated papers.

4. Finishing productivity

A combination of various feeding and finishing units are available with the Revoria PC2120 to ensure a wide variety of print jobs can be loaded and finished quickly and simply for the fastest on-demand production.

Revoria Color Management

Precision, efficiency, and intelligence in every print. The advantage of automated colour excellence

In the high-pressure landscape of high-volume digital print production, the friction between rapid turnaround times and non-negotiable colour consistency often creates a costly operational bottleneck.

Revoria Color Management serves as a solution to control colour across the print lifecycle, to bridge the gap between complex colour science and operational profitability.

By removing technical complexity, the platform de-skills colour management, helping to simply the process and ultimately reduce costs. When the technical barriers to colour excellence are removed, a printer’s ability to protect a customer’s brand identity becomes a simple automated process, rather than a complex, labour-intensive manual struggle.

Accelerated throughput: dramatically reduces the time required for quality control, ensuring that colour validation keeps pace with the highest press speeds.

Reliable consistency: provides a standardised framework for excellence, ensuring that output remains stable across diverse shifts and varying substrates.

Optimal asset utilisation: simplifies professional colour management to the point that it becomes a background process, maximising the uptime of every digital press.

Superb, consistent, benchmark quality

The Revoria Press PC2120 utilises VCSEL* technology that achieves both high speed printing and a high output resolution of 2400 x 2400 dpi.

In addition, Fujifilm’s advanced Super EA-Eco toners use particle sizes that have been reduced to among the smallest in the industry, with the toner particle shape standardised to enable the super-sharp rendering of detailed characters and fine lines. In addition, gradations, halftones and midtones are reproduced more smoothly and dot shapes more faithfully, delivering exceptional print quality on a par with offset printing.

Automatic pre-printing adjustments

Inline sensors automatically adjust alignment correction, and transfer output and density values to maintain high print quality.

Real time print correction

The Smart Monitoring Gate D1 monitors changes in colour density and the front-to-back registration during printing. By scanning print as it is being printed, the system detects and automatically corrects colour variations and registration misalignments in real time, resulting in stable and consistent print quality even for larger print runs. Print optimisation is done without reducing productivity, achieving both high quality and high productivity.

In addition, a number of software features in Revoria Flow allow print quality to be optimised automatically: AI-based quality optimisation

New AI technologies within Revoria Flow analyse data within a print job and recommend optimal quality settings. The settings are determined based on Revoria Flow’s unique document analysis and new AI learning models, and are based on the toner configuration installed in the press.

For example, AI automatically determines the scene for each photographic image on the page and applies scene-specific corrections utilising SVIE (scene-specific and visually optimised natural image enhancement technology). Images that are too dark, too bright, backlit, or with poor skin tones can be automatically corrected and printed beautifully. No technical or specific software knowledge is required, again making it possible to achieve the best quality with the minimum of operator skills.

Enhance image brightness with Pink toner

The use of Pink toner brightens the entire image and produces smoother, more realistic skin tones. By simply selecting the level of pink, Revoria Flow automatically balances magenta and pink colours to extend the colour gamut to print more vividly, without any image editing.

As a supplier of print- on-demand (POD) equipment and workflow, Fujifilm is able to provide solutions that cater for a broad range of digital print applications, and a workflow portfolio that addresses the specific needs of each applications and customer.

Enhance efficiency
The primary reason for implementing a print production workflow system is to improve overall efficiency. Fujifilm workflow solutions will reduce manual intervention, minimise errors and ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

Reduce costs
A print production workflow system helps to reduce costs by optimising resource allocation, eliminating redundant tasks and enhancing productivity. It can identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the production process, standardise workflow processes and automate repetitive tasks, resulting in better productivity and ultimately lower costs.

Improved quality control
By standardising print production processes, our workflow systems help to maintain consistent quality throughout the print production process.

Better job tracking and monitoring
Fujifilm workflow solutions provide real-time visibility of the status and progress of print jobs across your entire production. Both managers and team members can track the work in the workflow, making sure work is delivered on time.

Scalability and flexibility
As your printing company grows, Fujifilm’s workflow solutions can easily accommodate an increase in the volume and complexity of print jobs. The workflow can drive production to multiple presses, making expansion easy to manage. Whether you are looking to drive presses to their maximum in terms of productivity, or need to accommodate an expanding array of digital presses, our solutions have the flexibility to accommodate this growth.

Integration with other systems
Fujifilm’s core print production workflow system, Revoria XMF PressReady, can integrate with other systems in your business, such as web-to-print front ends or MIS systems, allowing a seamless flow of work from job onboarding to the final printed products.

Managing repetition
Many digital print companies or in-house departments create high volumes of print, but the products being printed are the same, or similar in format with new content. One example of this is the production of business stationery, where the products are a standard size but the content is always different. This may also apply to applications such as flyers, brochures and restaurant menus. For any of these jobs, Fujifilm’s
Revoria XMF PressReady solution turns the repetition into an automated process.

Not all print job files are supplied ready to print
Print work often originates from people or organisations that do not have a technical understanding of the printing process. In such situations, received print files arrive in all sorts of formats. Common issues include: designs in Microsoft applications; poor quality PDF files; designs containing RGB images; artwork that is different in size to the print product required. Fixing such issues can be a daily problem, and one that can take a huge amount of time.

Fujifilm’s PressReady workflow contains an armoury of tools to fix such issues automatically. With embedded pre-flighting, the workflow can identify a wide range of issues and take action to solve the problem by converting RGB images to CMYK, resizing pages to the correct dimensions, adding bleed to PDF files, rotating pages in the wrong orientation and doing mundane tasks such as removing blank pages from supplied PDF files.

Colour Beyond Limits

Discover how colour embellishments can transform print into a high-impact marketing tool that drives attention, elevates brand value, and boosts ROI.

Industry-leading, mid-range printers with advanced colour capability and performance

The Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S bring next generation performance and the benefits of 5 colour printing to help you differentiate your business.

Superb benchmark print quality

Super EA-Eco toner

With Super EA-Eco toner, particle sizes have been reduced to be the smallest in the industry, with the toner particle shape standardised to enable the super-sharp rendering of detailed characters and fine lines.

In addition, gradations, halftones and midtones are reproduced more smoothly and dot shapes more faithfully, delivering exceptional print quality.

LED printhead

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S benefit from a high resolution LED printhead, which produces incredible, high definition print:

2400 x 2400 dpi LED printhead
Delivers high resolution output for sharp lines and images, enabling high-definition printing.

Space saving, power saving
The size of the LED printhead has been reduced to 1/12 of the size of the previous generation VCSEL-ROS used previously. Since there is no motor, it consumes little power, makes no noise, and means image reproduction is incredibly stable.

High image quality
In order to achieve the high image quality required for production printers, we have improved and further evolved the development and transfer unit and associated technologies.

Real time, intelligent print optimisation

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S incorporate an optional Smart Monitoring Gate D1 which monitors the colour and front to back registration of print jobs as they are being printed.

Maximised productivity and printing uptime

Top-speed printing of 100 ppm with all paper weights

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S are capable of printing up to 100ppm A4 CMYK, and up to 55ppm for A3 CMYK. This speed is achieved for all media weights of between 52g and 400g.

New Bias Transfer Belt

The use of a new Bias Transfer Belt (BTB) system instead of the conventional Bias Transfer Roll (BTR) ensures paper transport is more stable, and therefore reliable, and allows a wider range of applications to be printed. The new system automatically adjusts the nip pressure according to the thickness of the paper, improving the transfer of toner. This mechanism is new in the Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S and produces superior print quality, particularly on embossed paper.

Load switching mechanism at the lead edge

Fujifilm has equipped the EC2100 & EC2100S with a flywheel that provides an inertial force to the transfer belt roll for stable driving. The rotation of the flywheel and inertial force suppress the vibration of the transfer belt, enabling stable transfer of media even for heavyweight paper.

New developer technology

Deterioration of the developer is one of the reasons why print quality can be unstable over a period of time. In conventional horizontal marking modules, some of the developing material that has been used once can find its way back to the development roll again, potentially affecting the print quality.

In the new vertical development system used in the EC2100 & EC2100S, the condition of the developer material is refreshed before it is fed back to the development roll. In this way all the developer used is always perfectly conditioned and fresh, which is why the Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S print so beautifully over time, and particularly on thick, rough and embossed papers.

Industry-leading paper handling capabilities

A range of advanced marking technologies have been introduced in the Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S that have improved paper handling capabilities, extending the variety of applications that can be printed, and increasing machine uptime across a wide variety of substrates.

Embossed paper, rough paper, thick paper
The newly developed Advanced Single Layer Belt (A-SLB), secondary transfer load switching mechanism, and toner condition stabilisation technology, have greatly improved the transfer of toner to embossed and thick paper.

Plain paper, rough paper
By improving both image formation and image transfer technologies, we have improved the print quality achievable on plain and rough paper. In addition, we have developed an optimal transfer electric field stabilisation technology for each paper type, improving the ability to print uniform densities.

Thick paper, envelopes
Two new paper transfer technologies result in industry-leading paper handling capabilities for thick paper and envelopes. Both these new technologies mean thick paper and envelopes are can be printed wrinkle-free consistently:

• New secondary transfer load switching mechanism changes the pressure to hold the paper according to the paper thickness
• New transfer torque variable mechanism stabilises the paper feed

Thin paper
The use of a belt-type transfer device, rather than roll-type, improves the versatility of printing on thin paper.

Postcards
By blocking the area outside the paper path with a shutter, the paper adsorption is enhanced and the stability of handling postcards through the printer is improved.

Additional paper handling technologies

Static Eliminator
• The optional Static Eliminator D1 provides a remarkable static elimination effect on a wide range of media, including single-layer film, synthetic paper, water-resistant paper, and tack paper.
• The charge can be adjusted from 0 to 99, and can also be set while the press is running.

Real-time curl correction
• A compact, built-in decurler judges and automatically corrects the paper curl caused by the type of paper or the image density, one page at a time in real time. High quality output with stable paper travel and curl suppression is possible.
• The optional Interface Decurler Module D1 offers easy additional curl correction steps, saving the time required for curl adjustments where the printing media is changing frequently.

Air Suction Feeder

The optional Air Suction Feeder improves the feed performance of paper with a lot of paper dust, pre-printed paper using powder, paper with an uneven texture, and coated paper. A stable and high-speed feed is achieved for various paper types, from lightweight to heavyweight, small-sized paper and banner sheets.

The shuttle head draws up the paper strongly using a small amount of air, separating and delivering each sheet reliably. The active head avoids friction on the paper surface, which can be a problem with other suction feeding technologies.

Steps towards more sustainable printing

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S are equipped with a number of energy saving features, for example the LED printhead and Super EA-Eco toner, to minimise energy consumption during printing.

The printers have also received ‘Superior De-inkability’ certification from the renowned industry-body INGEDE, meaning toner can be easily removed from print produced by the presses. This ensures that any printed output can be more easily recycled, further enhancing the sustainability credentials of the presses.

The print outputs of the Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S were tested according to INGEDE Method 11 and assessed according to the ‘Assessment of Printed Product Recyclability – De-inkability Score’ (EPRC 2017).

The total score is 100/100 achievable points

Space-saving design

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S incorporate a completely new ‘Vertical Development System’, along with an ultra-compact LED printhead. The result is a 5 colour press which is the same size as its 4 colour predecessor, the Revoria Press EC1100.

Find out what the Revoria EC2100 can do for your business

Differentiate your business with added value print

The Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S allow you to provide higher quality, added value print by utilising the speciality toners as a fifth colour, together with CMYK. These speciality toners can be printed as an overlay to CMYK, and can all be easily and quickly replaced by the user.

The value of pink toner

Expanding the colour gamut

With CMYK + pink, the colour gamut of red and blue tones are expanded, and more vivid colours can be printed. In particular, vivid oranges and blue-violets that could not be reproduced by CMYK alone can be printed. It also means it is possible to produce print that more closely matches RGB colour.

In addition, turning on the “Use Specialty Toner in RGB Simulation” function will print pink, orange and purple colours brighter and more vivid, bringing thecolours even closer to those displayed in RGB on a monitor.

For improving skin tones

Skin tones of any hue are smoother with noticeably reduced grain when you add pink toner to the mix. In addition, a unique feature in Revoria Flow “Use Pink Toner to Brighten Up” allows skin tones to be printed more vividly and beautifully.

The value of clear toner

A clear toner allows you to highlight specific areas of print with a perfectly registered varnish-like effect, to add an extra dimension to produce creative, personalised print. It can also add a touch of luxury to subtle patterns and backgrounds too, and also brighten up images printed in CMYK.

Embellishments can be created, such as glossy or textured designs, and the clear toner can also be used for watermarks and background designs where there is a requirement to make them more difficult to copy. Clear toner can also be integrated with CMYK print as well, to achieve a shine integrated with CMYK (a smoother effect) as well as a varnish-type effect.

The value of silver and gold toners

Fujifilm FLX metallic toner technology

The high density silver and gold metallic toners used in the Revoria EC2100S have reflective pigment particles that are fused to the substrate and lay parallel to the surface, resulting in their ability, due to FLX technology, to reflect light ensuring the underlying media does not show through, and giving a metallic appearance.

Silver and gold toners are not limited to metallic highlights alone. Combining silver and gold toners with CMYK also extends the range of colours that can be printed, making it possible to create a large number of metallic shades, offering unprecedented scope for creativity and new high profitable services to offer to your customers

The value of white toner

Be brilliant with high opacity white

The ability to print high opacity white is essential for window clings, labels and stickers on transparent media and opens up a world of possibilities on darker paper and board. But the use of white toner also allows unique and stylish patterns and designs to be created, making print applications stand out, and creating a superb, high quality luxury feel to printed items.

Suitable for mainstream flexible packaging

The Jet Press FP790 digital press has been designed to be suitable for mainstream flexible packaging applications, thanks to a number of key features. Firstly, the Jet Press FP790 digital press produces ultra-high print quality, wide gamut print similar to the Jet Press 750S, making it possible to convert analogue flexo and rotogravure jobs to digital.

High productivity

The maximum substrate width is 790mm (31 inches) with a productivity of 50 m/min (164 feet per minute), no matter the number of colours. The high machine uptime and ability to change printing jobs and design adjustments within a matter of minutes contribute to the overall improvement of production efficiency of the entire factory.

Critically, the Jet Press FP790 is also able to fit into existing production processes with no other capital investments, along with being a much more sustainable solution than its analogue counterparts.

Fits existing production processes

With the challenging demands of the flexible packaging market, particularly the short turnaround times and regulatory requirements, Fujifilm has carried out extensive testing of printed output from the Jet Press FP790 with various laminating, slitting and finishing processes, to ensure customers of the press are in the best possible position to maximise the production opportunities from day one.

Fujifilm extensively tested Henkel’s renowned portfolio of laminating adhesives to ensure compatibility with the Jet Press FP790 ink as well as verify adhesion properties and lamination performance in post-press production, to guarantee the highest quality output. Given the excellent results and positive outcomes from these rigorous tests, Henkel’s solvent-free laminating adhesives are Fujifilm’s recommended solution for use with the Jet Press FP790.

Fujifilm also successfully tested Nordmeccanica’s Simplex range of two-layer laminating machines for solvent-less adhesives. The environmental benefits of the Jet Press FP790, combined with Henkel’s solvent-free adhesives and Nordmeccanica’s solvent-less lamination technology, delivers a truly sustainable production solution. In addition, it will enable packaging converters to remain compliant with the increasingly stringent environmental regulations that are now commonplace throughout the industry.

By collaborating with renowned and leading manufacturers of pre-press and post-press
technologies, Fujifilm can clearly demonstrate that its new Jet Press FP790 is fully compatible and integrates effortlessly into existing production environments offering a ‘plug and play’ digital solution that delivers the highest quality finished packaging with minimal testing, training or setup.

XMF Packaging – powered by HYBRID Software

Fujifilm’s Jet Press FP790 will feature a unique, smart Digital Front End (DFE) and unified workflow solution developed specifically by HYBRID Software to optimise the productivity and output of Fujifilm’s press.

This new XMF Packaging DFE is the first of its kind to be developed by a software company for use in the packaging market, and is a result of a close working partnership between Fujifilm’s R&D team and HYBRID’s specialist software developers.

Based on proven technology, the web-based,open architecture production workflow offers fully automated pre-press functionality to ensure the Jet Press FP790 press offers accelerated turnaround times, maximum productivity and reduced operating costs. In addition, its modular configuration allows for greater workflow expansion and upstream customisation to cater for specific user requirements.

A more sustainable print process

Fujifilm employs environmentally friendly water-based primers and inkjet technologies, which meet or exceed all regulatory requirements for flexible packaging printing. The Jet Press FP790 is also able to minimise waste, reduce the number of consumables associated with traditional analogue production, and totally eliminate all elements of the plate-making process.

Wide colour gamut and ultra-high quality

Using 1200 X 1200 dpi resolutions with CMYK inks, the Jet Press FP790 can achieve more than 90% of the Pantone® colour gamut, while also using two white ink channels for delivering high white opacity, all achieved with unprecedented colour stability. The wide colour gamut allows converters to achieve special brand and spot colour matching with no need for additional special inks.

    65 ppm with the C650
  • High capacity paper feeder holds up to 7360 sheets*
  • It is possible to replace toner cartridges and add paper without stopping the print job in progress, therefore maximising printer uptime and productivity
  •  Low wear photoconductor drum with long life reduces the frequency of drum replacements

Stable paper feed, whatever the substrate type

The ApeosPro C Series printers are incredibly versatile, thanks to a number of key features:

  • A built-in sensor detects any misalignment of paper traveling at high speeds andautomatically corrects it
  • By adjusting the force applied to the paper according to the paper thickness, a stable paper feed and high registration accuracy are achieved, even with thicker cardstock
  • A built-in decurler flattens any possible paper curl, which helps guarantee the stable feed of paper. In addition, as an option, the printers can monitor any paper curl that is present, and make adjustments in real time to further minimise any potential paper feed inconsistencies.
  • The optimum output conditions for each paper type, such as the
transfer conditions, can be registered and stored (maximum: 100)
so that high quality output can be achieved efficiently simply by selecting the correct paper type.

With our new LuXtreme LED UV curing system and CuremaX inks, any traditional narrow web press can be converted to LED curing.

A secure investment in proven LED UV technology

Thanks to the high performance of the LuXtreme LED UV curing system, productivity and quality improvements are significant. Not only can press speeds be increased, but job set up and make ready times can be reduced as there is less material distortion due to heat.

Productivity and quality improvements

The LuXtreme LED UV system improves substrate stability, resulting in a more controlled ramp up to production speeds, and it is often possible to achieve the required colours much faster with Fujifilm’s high performance CuremaX flexo ink system. Add to that improvements to the system reliability with much lower press down time, productivity gains can be significant.

Quality also becomes more consistent as the impact of the heat from the UV lamps is reduced, resulting in better registration and less substrate distortion.

Savings in energy, materials, labour and waste

Due to the reductions in power required for the LED UV lamps, cost savings can be made across the production process. The energy savings are significant, but material usage and waste are also reduced, and the lower maintenance required to support the LED UV curing system results in a much lower number of replacement parts, with lower associated labour costs.

Environmental improvements

The LuXtreme LED UV curing system has significant benefits to both the working environment and the environment as a whole. Energy use is reduced, VOCs are eliminated when running at full LED capabilities and the lower amounts of materials used and waste produced all benefit the environment. The working environment for operators is also improved, with many undesirable factors eliminated or reduced, including heat from the conventional UV lamps, ambient noise and odour.

CuremaX flexo inks

Fujifilm’s CuremaX ink ranges include dual cure products designed to work alongside the LuXtreme LED lamp systems with the added benefit of curing under conventional UV lamps. Each CuremaX ink range incorporates a range of colours, process inks, metallic shades and specialist products, and are all formulated to meet the changing demands of the flexo industry. The manufacturing of these products ensure a consistent, high quality result time after time with vibrant strong colours.

Key benefits that CuremaX inks offer include:

  •  Low viscosity press ready colours
  • High colour density – Similar colour characteristics to the Sericol Flexo JD UV curing ink range
  • Adhesion to a wide range of synthetic substrates Including top coated PE & PP, PVC, PET, some thermal papers, metallised foils and most commonly available papers
  • Suitable for a wide range of applications including self-adhesive labels and unsupported films for sachets and pouches
  • Over printable with thermal transfer ribbons and cold foil adhesives – Good hot foiling properties
  • Dedicated Pantone®* formulation matching system – Flexo sleeve white for shrink sleeve applications
