Piotr Fortuniak, Digital Department & Project Manager | PrintUp

PrintUp, an online Polish calendar print business founded in 2018, has enhanced its capabilities, following the installation of a Revoria Press PC1120 in August 2024. While the PrintUp brand is relatively young, it is backed by over 30 years of experience, as it is owned and was launched by established commercial Polish print house, Interak. A long-term Fujifilm customer, Interak was one of the earliest adopters of Fujifilm’s Jet Press 540W roll-fed inkjet printing system around a decade ago, with the press still in full use today. Combining forward-thinking modernism with decades of experience, PrintUp offers its international client base service of the highest standard. In addition to calendars, PrintUp also produces leaflets, business cards, brochures, and catalogues.

Piotr Fortuniak, Digital Department & Project Manager at PrintUp, comments “The Revoria Press PC1120 brings exciting new opportunities to our business, enabling us to broaden our product offering while improving production efficiency. We are using the PC1120 to produce a wide range of calendars, including three-part and single-part options, with refinements such as glossy foil, matte foil, or matte foil with selective varnish”.

“We believe that success comes from both a skilled team and investing in the best technology. This investment allows us to create more complex, creative projects, which is especially important for calendar production, where functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand. Fujifilm has applied its market-leading technologies in the Asia Pacific region to introduce the Jet Press 1160CFG – a groundbreaking inkjet press setting new standards for commercial web applications.

Groundbreaking new digital inkjet press for commercial web applications

The Jet Press 1160CFG features a unique paper stabiliser unit that maximises print quality at high speeds, expands the range of printable applications, and minimises wavy sheets, particularly prevelant with the printing of books on coated stocks with high ink coverage.

A new standard in digital print quality

The key to the Jet Press 1160CFG’s advanced capability is a unique Paper Stabiliser Unit that ensures high coverage, 1200dpi quality print is delivered with consistent high quality and reliability.

This unique technology eliminates the two major challenges associated with water-based inkjet technologies used in high speed presses:
• Controlling the behaviour of a range of paper types
• Effective drying of inkjet printed paper

Advanced Paper Stabiliser Unit

Paper is often the most difficult variable in the printing process to control. It can react differently depending on the local humidity, temperature and other outside factors.

The Paper Stabiliser Unit is not a pre-coat or priming station. There are no consumables to apply, replenish or pay for. The paper stabiliser does exactly that, eliminating the stress and shocks that paper normally experiences in other inkjet presses.

Precisely controlled heating and cooling of the paper before printing conditions the paper for a smooth, stress-free progression through the press, to give the best possible printed result.

Before entering the imaging section, the paper goes through a pre-drying process which minimises rapid paper expansion and contraction within the press. The paper stabiliser helps to reduce paper curling and misalignment, ensuring a smooth and stable paper feed, thereby increasing registration accuracy, improving print quality and reducing waste.

The benefits of paper stabilisation:

Multiple benefits of paper stabilisation

The Jet Press 1160CFG won’t shrink away from a challenge

The paper stabiliser reduces the cycle of paper shrinking and swelling with each round of printing and drying. Dimensional stability is dramatically improved leading to accurate and reliable front to back registration.

Early intervention from the paper stabiliser reduces the stresses and strains on the paper as it is printed. Swelling and shrinking is eliminated improving the condition of the paper throughout the print process.

Minimise wavy sheets and books

The chance of producing wavy books is reduced too. This is essential for high quality print on coated stocks with higher ink coverage, which are the most susceptible to waviness. The phenomenon of swelling and shrinking is even more pronounced between areas of heavy ink coverage and non-image areas. The stresses of heating and cooling, wet and dry, are significantly reduced with the Jet Press 1160CFG, leading to flatter sheets and books. Less stress means flatter books.

Stabilised paper, represented by the green line, swells and shrinks less as it carries less moisture overall from the start of printing the first side, to the end of drying the back side.

Media flexibility

The Jet Press 1160CFG paper stabiliser helps expand media compatibility including common offset stocks. You can also print on both thinner and thicker stocks, meaning you can take advantage of current paper stocks, simplifying inventory and reducing costs.

Prints beautifully on offset coated paper

The newly developed aqueous pigment ink prints beautifully on both coated and uncoated paper without a primer. By reducing moisture levels before printing, the Jet Press creates a less volatile environment for the paper with

lower changes in temperature and moisture content. Paper stabilisation reduces issues at the time of printing and down the line during post processing and finishing.

Avoid dirty guide rollers and print white spots

Without the paper stabiliser, ink can attack the paper coating by penetrating deep into the paper base. This leads to a weak surface that can be picked off the sheet making guide rollers dirty and leaving white spots in the print.

Stabilised paper has a more robust surface, avoiding white spots and providing better rub resistance of the finished print.

Key scenarios where the Jet Press 1160CFG may fit in your business

You need to produce short to medium run, high quality colour books, journals, brochures and catalogues

The Jet Press 1160CFG has the quality and speed to produce high quality publications on light to heavyweight stocks. Its unique features overcome the common challenges facing other, less capable high speed inkjet presses.

You need to fulfil direct mail campaigns in medium to high volumes on quality stocks

Direct mail is changing to compete in an ever-more challenging communications environment. As campaigns become more creative and targeted, the Jet Press 1160CFG has the capability to run higher quality mail pieces at higher speed with greater consistency.

You need to move jobs away from analogue processes that are less capable and efficient

Offset printing presses are ideally suited to long run, static jobs but are increasingly being used for short to medium run work. Presses become stacked with inefficient work leaving little time for the jobs that pay. Jobs moved to the Jet Press 1160CFG can be produced on the same paper stocks at comparable quality using technologies exclusive to Fujifilm.

Fujifilm is ideally placed to maximise the benefits of this exclusive system with:
• A heritage in inkjet printing over the last 25 years.
• A long history of continuous inkjet printing, with the highest market share for the supply and service of these presses in the Asia Pacific region.
• A deep understanding of the print industry with over 90 years experience – from the supply of offset plates and film to the latest digital technologies.

Control colour with cloud-based colour management

Deliver high quality, consistent and accurate colour output while optimising workflow efficiency and productivity.

XMF ColorPath, Fujifilm’s cloud-based colour management system, allows printers to create optimised colour profiles and calibrations to print to various standards, and provides tools to ensure that over time the standards are continually adhered to, all while achieving superior print results and meeting the demanding requirements of today’s print market.

Manage and monitor colour performance

The key to good colour management is the creation of accurate device link colour profiles, the ability to easily print to ISO standards, and above all to have a system that makes it easy to check and verify that standards are continuously being met. All of this and more is achieved with XMF ColorPath, Fujifilm’s cloud-based colour management solution. Optimised curve data and ICC profiles can be quickly and easily created in the cloud and deployed for everyday production within XMF Workflow.

Key features
• Cloud-based colour management
• Align offset and digital presses to ISO or G7 standards
• Optimise ink usage while maintaining conformance to ISO and G7 standards
• Create optimised colour profiles to allow for GRACoL and FOGRA standard proofing
• Verify if digital proofs and prints are within the tolerance limits of industry standards
G7® and GRACoL® are trademarks of Idealliance Control your colour.

Working towards a more sustainable future

The Jet Press 1160CFG can replace traditional offset production for a variety of print jobs, therefore bringing the sustainability benefits of digital printing to a wider range of print production.

The many environmental benefits of digital print are well documented, including the elimination of make-ready waste between jobs, the removal of the plate production process, the requirement for fewer press chemicals, and smaller stock holdings due to the on-demand nature of digital print.

Folding carton packaging

A press that combines high quality and high speed

The Jet Press 1160CFG has two modes relating to speed and quality. A High Quality (HQ) mode running at a 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution and a High Performance (HP) mode with a print resolution of 1200×600 dpi.

Fujifilm hybrid ink technology, optimised for continuous feed printing

The Jet Press 1160CFG, combined with Fujifilm’s hybrid ink, can print in both quality modes without the need for a primer. The patented hybrid ink formulation controls ink penetration, surface tension and coagulation to print at high speed with rapid drying, resulting in sharper dots and reducing strike through.

High definition and even dot shape for a better print result

Reducing moisture content during paper stabilisation improves dot shape and reduces graininess. The end result is higher productivity and a winning combination of better quality print, at higher resolutions, and at faster speeds.

Lower show through, the difference is striking

Another benefit of lower moisture content in the paper is reduced strike through on thinner paper stock. With less moisture due to the paper stabiliser, the ink stays nearer to the surface of the paper. Less penetration of the ink into the coating and paper fibres means lower show through.

This principle of early paper stabilisation with the Jet Press 1160CFG is far more effective than heated air or rollers alone during later stages of the print process. The result is a combination of high quality print and high production speeds with a consistency and efficiency not seen before in this type of press.

Consistent print that lasts

Great print needs to stay great and creating robust, long-lasting images needs great science. The Jet Press 1160CFG combines Fujifilm’s renowned hybrid ink chemistry and the unique physics of the paper stabiliser to bring outstanding print durability to high-speed inkjet.

Many presses printing high resolution on coated stocks need to slow down to 50 metres per minute or less. When paper is stabilised on the Jet Press 1160CFG, lower moisture content means the paper surface can withstand more power and run at higher speeds.

Image quality can suffer when jetting onto paper that has not been stabilised and moisture content is high. If the surface tension in the ink is disturbed by microscopic moisture elements in the paper, uneven dot shapes will make images appear grainy and text will be poorly defined too.

Welcome to 5UPER COLOUR from Revoria. Two new, mid-range presses that combine a fifth colour with outstanding performance to help you stand out in an increasingly demanding market.

Industry-leading, mid-range printers with advanced colour capability and performance

The Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S bring next generation performance and the benefits of 5 colour printing to help you differentiate your business.

Superb benchmark print quality

Super EA-Eco toner

With Super EA-Eco toner, particle sizes have been reduced to be the smallest in the industry, with the toner particle shape standardised to enable the super-sharp rendering of detailed characters and fine lines.

In addition, gradations, halftones and midtones are reproduced more smoothly and dot shapes more faithfully, delivering exceptional print quality.

LED printhead

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S benefit from a high resolution LED printhead, which produces incredible, high definition print:

2400 x 2400 dpi LED printhead
Delivers high resolution output for sharp lines and images, enabling high-definition printing.

Space saving, power saving
The size of the LED printhead has been reduced to 1/12 of the size of the previous generation VCSEL-ROS used previously. Since there is no motor, it consumes little power, makes no noise, and means image reproduction is incredibly stable.

High image quality
In order to achieve the high image quality required for production printers, we have improved and further evolved the development and transfer unit and associated technologies.

Real time, intelligent print optimisation

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S incorporate an optional Smart Monitoring Gate D1 which monitors the colour and front to back registration of print jobs as they are being printed.

Maximised productivity and printing uptime

Top-speed printing of 100 ppm with all paper weights

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S are capable of printing up to 100ppm A4 CMYK, and up to 55ppm for A3 CMYK. This speed is achieved for all media weights of between 52g and 400g.

New Bias Transfer Belt

The use of a new Bias Transfer Belt (BTB) system instead of the conventional Bias Transfer Roll (BTR) ensures paper transport is more stable, and therefore reliable, and allows a wider range of applications to be printed. The new system automatically adjusts the nip pressure according to the thickness of the paper, improving the transfer of toner. This mechanism is new in the Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S and produces superior print quality, particularly on embossed paper.

Load switching mechanism at the lead edge

Fujifilm has equipped the EC2100 & EC2100S with a flywheel that provides an inertial force to the transfer belt roll for stable driving. The rotation of the flywheel and inertial force suppress the vibration of the transfer belt, enabling stable transfer of media even for heavyweight paper.

New developer technology

Deterioration of the developer is one of the reasons why print quality can be unstable over a period of time. In conventional horizontal marking modules, some of the developing material that has been used once can find its way back to the development roll again, potentially affecting the print quality.

In the new vertical development system used in the EC2100 & EC2100S, the condition of the developer material is refreshed before it is fed back to the development roll. In this way all the developer used is always perfectly conditioned and fresh, which is why the Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S print so beautifully over time, and particularly on thick, rough and embossed papers.

Industry-leading paper handling capabilities

A range of advanced marking technologies have been introduced in the Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S that have improved paper handling capabilities, extending the variety of applications that can be printed, and increasing machine uptime across a wide variety of substrates.

Embossed paper, rough paper, thick paper
The newly developed Advanced Single Layer Belt (A-SLB), secondary transfer load switching mechanism, and toner condition stabilisation technology, have greatly improved the transfer of toner to embossed and thick paper.

Plain paper, rough paper
By improving both image formation and image transfer technologies, we have improved the print quality achievable on plain and rough paper. In addition, we have developed an optimal transfer electric field stabilisation technology for each paper type, improving the ability to print uniform densities.

Thick paper, envelopes
Two new paper transfer technologies result in industry-leading paper handling capabilities for thick paper and envelopes. Both these new technologies mean thick paper and envelopes are can be printed wrinkle-free consistently:

• New secondary transfer load switching mechanism changes the pressure to hold the paper according to the paper thickness
• New transfer torque variable mechanism stabilises the paper feed

Thin paper
The use of a belt-type transfer device, rather than roll-type, improves the versatility of printing on thin paper.

Postcards
By blocking the area outside the paper path with a shutter, the paper adsorption is enhanced and the stability of handling postcards through the printer is improved.

Additional paper handling technologies

Static Eliminator
• The optional Static Eliminator D1 provides a remarkable static elimination effect on a wide range of media, including single-layer film, synthetic paper, water-resistant paper, and tack paper.
• The charge can be adjusted from 0 to 99, and can also be set while the press is running.

Real-time curl correction
• A compact, built-in decurler judges and automatically corrects the paper curl caused by the type of paper or the image density, one page at a time in real time. High quality output with stable paper travel and curl suppression is possible.
• The optional Interface Decurler Module D1 offers easy additional curl correction steps, saving the time required for curl adjustments where the printing media is changing frequently.

Air Suction Feeder

The optional Air Suction Feeder improves the feed performance of paper with a lot of paper dust, pre-printed paper using powder, paper with an uneven texture, and coated paper. A stable and high-speed feed is achieved for various paper types, from lightweight to heavyweight, small-sized paper and banner sheets.

The shuttle head draws up the paper strongly using a small amount of air, separating and delivering each sheet reliably. The active head avoids friction on the paper surface, which can be a problem with other suction feeding technologies.

Steps towards more sustainable printing

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S are equipped with a number of energy saving features, for example the LED printhead and Super EA-Eco toner, to minimise energy consumption during printing.

The printers have also received ‘Superior De-inkability’ certification from the renowned industry-body INGEDE, meaning toner can be easily removed from print produced by the presses. This ensures that any printed output can be more easily recycled, further enhancing the sustainability credentials of the presses.

The print outputs of the Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S were tested according to INGEDE Method 11 and assessed according to the ‘Assessment of Printed Product Recyclability – De-inkability Score’ (EPRC 2017).

The total score is 100/100 achievable points

Space-saving design

The Revoria Press EC2100 & EC2100S incorporate a completely new ‘Vertical Development System’, along with an ultra-compact LED printhead. The result is a 5 colour press which is the same size as its 4 colour predecessor, the Revoria Press EC1100.

The Revoria EC2100 & EC2100S allow you to provide higher quality, added value print by utilising the speciality toners as a fifth colour, together with CMYK. These speciality toners can be printed as an overlay to CMYK, and can all be easily and quickly replaced by the user.

The value of pink toner

Expanding the colour gamut

With CMYK + pink, the colour gamut of red and blue tones are expanded, and more vivid colours can be printed. In particular, vivid oranges and blue-violets that could not be reproduced by CMYK alone can be printed. It also means it is possible to produce print that more closely matches RGB colour.

In addition, turning on the “Use Specialty Toner in RGB Simulation” function will print pink, orange and purple colours brighter and more vivid, bringing thecolours even closer to those displayed in RGB on a monitor.

For improving skin tones

Skin tones of any hue are smoother with noticeably reduced grain when you add pink toner to the mix. In addition, a unique feature in Revoria Flow “Use Pink Toner to Brighten Up” allows skin tones to be printed more vividly and beautifully.

The value of clear toner

A clear toner allows you to highlight specific areas of print with a perfectly registered varnish-like effect, to add an extra dimension to produce creative, personalised print. It can also add a touch of luxury to subtle patterns and backgrounds too, and also brighten up images printed in CMYK.

Embellishments can be created, such as glossy or textured designs, and the clear toner can also be used for watermarks and background designs where there is a requirement to make them more difficult to copy. Clear toner can also be integrated with CMYK print as well, to achieve a shine integrated with CMYK (a smoother effect) as well as a varnish-type effect.

Groundbreaking productivity, quality and performance in a mid-range press.

Welcome to 5UPER COLOUR from Revoria. Two new, mid-range presses that combine a fifth colour with outstanding performance to help you stand out in an increasingly demanding market.

Industry-leading, mid-range printers with advanced colour capability and performance

The Revoria SC285 & SC285S bring next generation performance and the benefits of 5 colour printing to help you differentiate your business.

The Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S benefit from a high resolution LED printhead, which produces incredible, high definition print:

2400 x 2400 dpi LED printhead
Delivers high resolution output for sharp lines and images, enabling high-definition printing.

Space saving, power saving
The size of the LED printhead has been reduced to 1/12 of the size of the previous generation VCSEL-ROS used previously. Since there is no motor, it consumes little power, makes no noise, and means image reproduction is incredibly stable.

High image quality
In order to achieve the high image quality required for production printers, we have improved and further evolved the development and transfer unit and associated technologies.

Real time, intelligent print optimisation

The Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S incorporate an optional Smart Monitoring Gate D1 which monitors the colour and front to back registration of print jobs as they are being printed.

Maximised productivity and printing uptime

Top-speed printing of 85 ppm with all paper weights

The Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S are capable of printing up to 85ppm A4 CMYK, and up to 47ppm for A3 CMYK.

This mechanism is new in the Revoria SC285 & SC285S and produces superior print quality, particularly on embossed paper.

Load switching mechanism at the lead edge

Fujifilm has equipped the SC285 & SC285S with a flywheel that provides an inertial force to the transfer belt roll for stable driving.

In the new vertical development system used in the SC285 & SC285S, the condition of the developer material is refreshed before it is fed back to the development roll. In this way all the developer used is always perfectly conditioned and fresh, which is why the Revoria SC285 & SC285S print so beautifully over time, and particularly on thick, rough and embossed papers.

Industry-leading paper handling capabilities

A range of advanced marking technologies have been introduced in the Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S that have improved paper handling capabilities, extending the variety of applications that can be printed, and increasing machine uptime across a wide variety of substrates.

The Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S are equipped with a number of energy saving features, for example the LED printhead and Super EA-Eco toner, to minimise energy consumption during printing.

The printers have also received ‘Superior De-inkability’ certification from the renowned industry-body INGEDE, meaning toner can be easily removed from print produced by the presses. This ensures that any printed output can be more easily recycled, further enhancing the sustainability credentials of the presses.

The print outputs of the Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S were tested according to INGEDE Method 11 and assessed according to the ‘Assessment of Printed Product Recyclability – De-inkability Score’ (EPRC 2017).

The total score is 100/100 achievable points

Space-saving design

The Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S incorporate a completely new ‘Vertical Development System’, along with an ultra-compact LED printhead. The result is a 5 colour press which is the same size as its 4 colour predecessor, the Revoria Press SC180/170.

Colour matching previous print jobs

Revoria Flow incorporates a new feature called User Image Colour Matching (UICM) which can be used to match the colours of a previous print job, even if it was printed on another press. This applies even if you do not know the previous print settings or output conditions, allowing you to reprint jobs that are a colour match.

This is possible because the Revoria Press SC285 & SC285S incorporate a scanning unit that can be used to scan a previous job. Revoria Flow then creates a CMYK device link profile and allocates it to the job.

Matt Saulsbury | EA Printing

Highlights

  • EA Printing invests in Revoria Press PC1120 enabling them to increase their print offering to customers.
  • Co-owner, Matt Saulsbury, sees the digital press investment and partnership with Fujifilm as positive steps for the future for the company.
  • The digital printing company works with a huge number of major UK and global brands offering a wide range of services.
  • The press features an advanced print engine with 10 colours, including gold, silver, white, pink & clear, easily configurable in six stations.
  • Aside from the special colours, EA Printing has noticed an improvement in productivity and quality compared to their previous press.
  • EA Printing is planning open days for creative agencies to come and see the creative potential of the special colours and effects they can now offer.

A small company in terms of size, Leicestershire-based EA Printing works with a huge number of major UK and global brands, both directly and through creative agencies. Offering a wide range of services, from digital print, to wide format, letterpress, die cutting, embossing and debossing, EA Printing specialises in complex, conceptual work that its customers find hard to get done elsewhere. Needing to replace an end-of-life toner device, the very hands-on business owners Matt Saulsbury and David Kennedy considered a range of options, before opting for the Revoria Press PC1120.

Saulsbury comments: “We’d never dealt with Fujifilm before, because until recently they haven’t been directly involved in the toner market in the UK. Though of course, as everyone knows, Fujifilm-made digital toner presses have been around for a long time, and we’d been using one ourselves for a number of years. I’d always been very impressed with the technology, so when I started seeing a few articles in the trade press about Fujifilm entering the toner market directly in the UK, I was interested. I know the quality of their products and I liked the idea of working with them directly.

“Ultimately it was a visit from a Fujifilm wide format sales rep that really got the ball rolling. He came to talk to us about wide format, but we quickly got talking about Revoria, and it all went from there.

“We did consider a few other options, including sticking with our existing supplier, but ultimately we decided that we needed to take the opportunity to invest in something that was going to help us differentiate our offering and grow our business, rather than just stand still and keep doing what we had been doing. When we’d decided that, the choice was obvious.”

EA Printing’s Revoria Press PC1120 was installed in late December 2023 and was put straight to work from early January. “It was incredibly busy right away,” Saulsbury continues. “Even before we were fully trained up on how to use it, we had jobs coming in. We really liked the fact that it had a white ink option, with all the requests we get now for printing on dark or coloured board. We’d also immediately seen the potential for the gold and silver ink options to win us high value work with metallic effects. But, somewhat to our surprise, the biggest advantage so far has been the pink ink – which has already won us some greeting cards work. The creative agency sourcing the greetings cards needed a print supplier who could produce fluorescent colours, and the florescent pink we can achieve on the PC1120 was exactly right for what they needed.

“The other advantage of the pink, from a much more practical point of view, is that we can now match far more pantone colours than we could before. We’re always getting customers bringing slightly unusual colours to us and asking if we can match them. With the pink, we can do that far more now than we could before.”

With so much more the company can now offer, EA Printing is planning some open days for creative agencies to come and see the creative potential of the special colours and effects now on offer. Aside from the special colours, Saulsbury also notes the improved productivity and quality they’re noticing compared with their previous press.

“The quality has surprised me.” Saulsbury confesses. “I knew it was a step up from what we had before – but hadn’t expected that step up to be as big as it has. We’ve really noticed it and we’ve had customers remark on it as well. “It’s also a lot faster than what we had before, which is particularly noticeable when we’re crunching through longer run print jobs. Then there’s the long sheet format option, which we can also duplex print from a high capacity tray. Taken altogether, it all adds up to a massive productivity boost.”

In a challenging market, Saulsbury is confident about his own company’s prospects and sees his new investment and partnership with Fujifilm as positive steps in facing that future.

  • Leading UK print company expands capabilities and enhances operational efficiency with combined investment.
  • The digital print solutions include Fujifilm’s Jet Press 750S High Speed Model, Revoria Press PC1120 and Revoria Press E1 Series.
  • The new presses have propelled Impress into new markets, such as short-run packaging (through the Jet Press), and enabled it to bring previously outsourced B1 litho work in-house (through the Revoria presses).
  • Impress is a business that prioritises sustainability – when considering the investment, Impress placed huge importance on the overall environmental credentials of the new machines.
  • The special colours on the Revoria PC1120 have really helped them retain certain types of work and Impress Print Services are delighted with the quality and productivity of the monochrome Revoria E1.

Leading UK print company expands capabilities and enhances operational efficiency with combined investment in Fujifilm’s Jet Press 750S High Speed Model, Revoria Press PC1120 and Revoria Press E1 Series. Based in Walton-on-Thames, UK, Impress is a family owned business that has grown into an award-winning print business with a reputation for quality and sustainability. Over the course of more than three decades, Impress has delivered marketing materials for a diverse clientele, including both end-users and creative agencies.

After one of the company’s previous digital machines reached end of life, the team at Impress were exploring various options in the market. Michael Kille, Managing Director, Impress Print Services, comments: “The quality produced on our previous digital machine was good, but there were productivity issues. Now, the Fujifilm machines do what we need them to do straight away, with minimal downtime, enhancing our overall business productivity and efficiency. Furthermore, our production capabilities and our value offering have been significantly enhanced through the addition of B2 digital, which complements our litho offering.

“Additionally,” Kille continues. “The special colours on the Revoria PC1120 have really helped us to retain certain types of work that would previously have been B1 litho printed, and we’re delighted with the quality and productivity of the monochrome Revoria E1.”

The new presses have propelled Impress into new markets, such as short-run packaging (through the Jet Press), and enabled it to bring previously outsourced B1 litho work in-house (through the Revoria presses).

Impress is a business that prioritises sustainability; as evidenced through their commitment to recycling materials; their ongoing sustainability programme, and the harnessing of solar power for their own energy needs. When considering the investment, Impress placed huge importance on the overall environmental credentials of the new machines.

Michael comments: “Since installing the Fujifilm machines, we’ve seen a significant reduction in power usage. In particular, with the efficiencies created by the Jet Press 750S, its B2 capability and enhanced productivity, coupled with the lack of breakdowns and smooth workflow, our waste and downtime has reduced and output has significantly increased.”

He concludes: “It’s been a fantastic experience working with Fujifilm through the sales and installation process, and they are always responsive when providing ongoing support. They are truly one of the top suppliers in the industry. Thanks to Fujifilm, we now have the best in inkjet and the best in toner, and a business that runs more productively and effectively than ever before.”

Taro Aoki, Head of Digital Press Solutions, Fujifilm Graphic Communications Europe comments: “Fujifilm is unique in the market in offering the best of both toner and inkjet solutions and it’s always particularly rewarding to partner with businesses who recognise the enormous potential of the combination of these new technologies. But our market-leading technologies are only half of the story. We’re equally proud of the service we provide after installation as we help businesses to develop and grow. This bold investment from Impress is just the beginning, we look forward to working with them in the months and years to come as they grow their offering and their business and bring the benefits of best-in-class-toner and inkjet technology to their own customers.”
